Coaches, Mentors, and Advisors

YM Coach
Excellence, Knowledge, and Experience.

Merv ParasWhen the race is on the line, Young Medalists believes that experience and leadership count. To demand performance from an athlete, the coach needs to know what that experience is really like--not just executed out of the lab or read in a text book.

The Young Medalists program is different from most coaching services in that its Performance Management Team is made up of former or current world-class athletes and Olympians that are licensed by their respective national governing bodies, insured, and background checked with the National Center for Safety Initiatives, the same organization used by USA Cycling.

Young Medalists is dedicated to providing the best possible service to its members; to do so, it's critical that its coaches--the front line of athlete support--are qualified to meet the demands of the high performance environment in an increasingly fast-paced world. All YM Coaches are trained in the standardized training methodologies and Integrate Performance Management philosophy of the program, while concurrently being provided the flexibility to execute their expertise in their own unique way.

Finally, all YM Coaches support the Young Medalists' Athlete ROI program that guarantees specific rights to its members. You're in good hands with a YM Coach!

YM Mentor
Giving back to the program...

YM Mentor is a program in which athletes, parents, and other qualifying persons are able to give back to the Young Medalists program by assisting the coaching staff and management team at OnSite workouts and Race Assist events or by helping a young athlete in need off the bike. Its also a way for athletes transitioning beyond the junior ranks to continue being a part of Young Medalists by setting positive examples for the younger riders in the program.

Whether its a group ride that needs a few extra hands to a member athlete needing to fill some school service or project time, YM Mentor is a great way to get involved! [2]Ask a YM Coach about mentoring opportunities at the next workout.

YM Advisor
Expert advice on call!

YM AdvisorYoung Medalists is always at pace with the latest training trends. In addition to a coaching staff that lives and breathes bicycle racing, the program works with experts outside of cycling that have a positive impact on the total performance management effort. Throughout the racing season, Young Medalists solicits assistance from outside persons and organizations that are experts in the fields of strength and conditioning, nutrition, biomechanics, sports science, orthopedics, and bicycle maintenance.

Performance Management Team
Putting it all together when results count.

Young Medalists takes great pride in the people that work in the program. Without the collection of talented individuals that, together, make up the Performance Management Team, Young Medalists would be just another coaching service. With Young Medalists, the athlete can be confident that they're getting the best possible combination of people on the job!
